Maybe you’re already aware, but the caverns eventually split into individual tunnels — the group as a whole split accordingly. I’ve heard tell of what the others found, but I’ll only speak on my own personal experiences for now.
Our stint of the journey surprisingly avoided a fair amount of swimming. We passed several underground lakes, though there are two prominent ones worth mentioning — one where creatures called kelpies were liable to leap out and try to drag passerbys underwater. Horse-like animals that could thrive in the lake.
[In case she didn’t know what a kelpie was.]
One managed to pull me under, and a few others tried, but overall their intent seemed more mischievous than malicious. I was uninjured, so we pressed on.
The final lake was the largest and by far the… strangest. The walls of the caverns were covered with runes. None that we could read, save for a few. They read, “she who lies here waits for the freedom she granted so many men”.
[Well, Connor is also bothered by the lack of answers, but he wasn't going to suggest anyone toss themselves in the lake.]
I performed a cursory scan of the lake. I sensed a barrier, and below that, something else. All very vague, but I wonder if something or someone was being kept imprisoned there.

[ And she sounds a bit impatient wondering why no one threw themselves in to find out. ]
