[It's unlike what he expected to see, wandering into the kitchen. At first, Connor wonders just what someone's done to all of the cups, the bowls, the glasses -- the point of arranging them in such a way, was there one? -- and his eyes track their steam. Some part of his programming registers their scent in an empirical way, though analyses don't flutter up in his hud in the way they should. No real way of knowing what liquids are steeped within, but-
There is a woman, looking less than well, as seems to be the case. But before Connor can ask anything, she speaks up first, and he blinks in mild confusion.]
None. I'm an android, and apparently unaffected by the sickness currently spreading in the temple.
[A step forward, tone easing into something that sounds concerned.]
[She shakes her head in gentle denial, still smiling, not quite registering all of Connor's words.] That's a good thing. The disease has spread so quickly, and nothing we try seems to really halt it.
[She gestures at the array of containers, a fine tremble in her outstretched arm.] I have only a very small skill in medicine, but I thought... at least some of the symptoms could be eased, for a time. That, at least, is something I can do.
[She coughs, the exhale of breath almost a laugh.] Since I haven't the faintest idea how to halt the illness itself.
[Each and every minute hint of her being unwell -- and there are several blatant ones, too -- and Connor's frown deepens. He steps forward, leaning in towards the surface of a small table, where a myriad of steaming containers look back up at him.
A glance in her direction. He wonders just how lucid she is right now.]
And which of these would you suggest to someone running a fever and who has a cough?
[A little dreamily, but so quickly in response to his question as to seem automatic and instinctual:] Ginger, ginseng, goldthread root, forsythia, artemisia...
[She raises a hand as if to either point or reach for the cup or cups in question, but then lets it drop back down, as if the effort were too much.]
[A nod, and nothing is said at first. Connor moves and takes each container delicately, partitioning them over to one part of the table by themselves. The steam catches faintly against his synthetic skin, and he can feel the sensation of it in a detached way an android does.]
[She shakes her head - uncharacteristically emphatic at first, and then with a wince, she slows the movement to something more gentle.]
I should be able to... [She seems to be struggling somewhat against her body's limitations in the desire to do what is most familiar, but then forces herself to subside.] They can all be mixed together, at this point. [She's going to make a slight face to herself; there was absolutely no chance that this would taste palatable.]
[Watching her face, Connor can glean the same assumption. Quietly, he moves the containers closer to her, the subtle clinking of cups and mugs the only sound that fills the air. Goes to grab something to pour it all in and stir with, and then settles in a seat nearby. He leans forward, amicably.]
I suppose you realize by now that I’m going to make this for you. So it’s better for me to go ahead and say this — if you have any preferences regarding how this should be mixed, or additives that need to be applied for the sake of taste, just let me know.
(sorry, I know this is really late, feel free to drop and I'll grab Connor at a not-sick point!)
[She laughs a little, shaking her head, then coughs briefly.] A doctor should be able to take their own medicine, to set an example for their patients.
[She glances up at Connor, her eyes bright with slight fever and curiosity.] Is this something you do often, young master?
No. That is, not if you're asking if this was what I was created to do.
[He gestures at the array of cups around them.]
I'm no caretaker. But I have been learning a few applications of helping others feel better while they're sick, courtesy of what's been happening in the temple thus far.
this is perfect!

But you don't look well.
